Kevin Maguire joins Sandy Dhuyvetter to launch the newly formed BusinessTravelRADIO program. Mr. Maguire will spend the first half of the program discussing travel management and the latest issues affecting this part of the industry. He identifies and defines business travel and discusses how we can make it better for the business people on the road. Kevin also talks about International Travel and why this is the first and foremost focus of the NBTA for the next several years. He’ll also talk about the Association's plans in Europe for 2010

 

Kevin is a travel manager and buyer for the University of Texas athletic programs and he'll talk about buying sports travel for 16 different men and women teams. Hookem Horns!  He’ll also discuss the new career opportunities in travel management and, on a personal note, he will discuss the huge opportunities in sports travel management. The National Business Travel Association has built a task force to talk about this untouched area of travel management. He’ll tell you a great secret on how to reach out to industry leaders and be heard!

In 1998, Andrew Menkes was named one of the Top 25 Most Influential Travel Executives in the world. In 1999, Business Travel News named Andy Travel Manager of the Year. The following year, Andy was once again recognized as one of the Top 25 Most Influential Travel Executives.

Andy talks with Sandy about challenges in the industry noting that corporate travel has become the piñata when it comes time for companies to save on their expenses. As a general rule, Travel is the 3rd or 4th biggest expense in a company after payroll, IT and real estate.  Andy talks about what happens when companies cut back on travel and it’s affect on sales. We’ll also examine studies done by the National Business Travel Association and Association of Corporate Travel Executives on the impact of cutting back on business travel .

 

As the founder of Partnership Travel Consulting, Andy brings his 30 years of experience to the forefront with his approach to evaluating suppliers and partners. He’ll talk about Trip Advisor and its place in the leisure travel world. We’ll also talk about the new offering by Andy’s company that will provides new and highly effective tool that corporate travel buyers will be able to use to evaluate suppliers.
