Congresswoman Doris Matsui issues press release, applauds Unanimous Committee Support of Cruise Safety Act (legislation introduced by Representative Matsui in 2006).
“This issue was originally brought to my attention by a constituent of mine, and in the past three years, I have met far too many American families which have incurred tragedy during what ought to be a relaxing vacation." Continued

Perhaps the epitome of a travel writer and publisher, Jerry Bird recently packed up his longtime home in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada and moved nearly 6,000 to Morocco. The fresh air of the Atlantic coastal breezes are inspiring him to begin compiling his 14 years of publishing The Africa Travel Magazine into a comprehensive library on travel, tourism and industry within the continent.

Zeppelin Over the Bay
Imagine seeing San Francisco and the gorgeous California Coast from about 1,300 feet and at a leisurely 30mph. Heck, you can even stick your head out the window like a dog and smell the ocean air! This is the truly unique experience offered by a new startup company that operates the largest zeppelin in the world. This thing is bigger than the A380!

Duzer Duz America
Pedaling across the US from California to Washington, DC, is not for the faint of heart. Meet Ryan Van Duzer, a 30 year old, dedicated bicycling advocate who has never had much use for automobiles. In fact, he has never even had a drivers license. Bicycles are a fantastic form of transportation says Ryan and he truly walks his talk, or should we says pedals what he peddles. Sponsored by green-minded New Belgium Brewery of Fort Collins , Colorado, Ryan has powered his three speed New Belgium cruiser and trailer all the way east from the Pacific Ocean through Ohio. There he took a breather to share some insight into his journey and explain why we need to seriously consider getting out of our cars and onto our bicycles.

Noshing in N'awlins
New Orleans is one of our very favorite places in the world and is perhaps the most eclectic and most diverse of any US city. For a fact, it is the most northern city of the Caribbean and together with its long history, rich heritage and splendid cultural mix, it is truly one of a kind. For over 200 years, the French Market that runs along the shores of the Mississippi River just north of Jackson Square in the French Quarter has been an integral part of the City of New Orleans. From beignets to muffulettas, here you will find a part of America you may not have realized actually exists. We get hungry just thinking about it!

Travel News Publishing Giant, Lite

Some folks imagine that, with a global daily newsletter distribution to 230,000+ travel industry professionals and over 150 ambassadors-reporters covering some 230 countries, eTurboNews must be located in a tall skyscraper in downtown Honolulu with a newsroom that looks like the Daily Planet. The founder of eTurboNews, Thomas Steinmetz, gives us a reality check and tells how one of the world's leading publishers of travel and tourism news can produce and distribute such a consistent, comprehensive and quality product with a staff not much larger than a small town newspaper.
