TravelTalkRADIO and BusinessTravelRADIO Your connection to the experts in travel and lifestyle.

Welcome to this week's TravelTalkMEDIA Newsletter.

August is a month when many of us take time off with the family and strategize and plan our businesses for the following year. We did a bit of both last month, and we are excited to start September by announcing some of the new offerings, events, and distribution channels for our listeners.

This week, September 05, 2010
on TravelTalkRADIO and BusinessTravelRADIO

TravelTalkRADIO guests: Sandy's great niece, Abbey Gosling, Beth Blackwood from the International Tour Management Institute and Dr. Jessie A. Pincus, Project Director Center for Research & Archaeology of the Southern Levant. LISTEN & Learn more HERE

BusinessTravelRADIO guests: Michael R. Bertaut, Senior Healthcare Intelligence Analyst Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and Nancy Rivard, Founder and President of Airline Ambassadors. LISTEN & Learn more HERE

Our work with Business for Diplomatic Action continues, and as a member of the senior advisory board, we are very grateful to continue to pass onto you the many opportunities the organization offers. This includes the World Citizens Guide and Cultural Exchanges.

Executive Director, Cari Guittard, has become a regular contributor, educating our audiences in diplomacy and global ambassadorship. Keith Reinhard, founder and the patriarch of the diplomacy movement here in the US, has been a contributor on TravelTalkRADIO for over six years, sharing with us, strategies and real life stories of diplomacy in action. You will continue to hear much from this organization in the future.

Our new partnership with American Airlines ( AA) and producing new in-flight entertainment programming is another exciting development. The communications department at AA is as excited as we are, and have already provided us with great programming ideas including this week’s interview with Nancy Rivard, the founder of Airline Ambassadors International. As an American Airline flight attendant, Nancy has lead this small non-profit organization to become a significant contributor to helping children in emerging countries with medical and transport issues. We are thrilled about our new partnership with AA as their message of diplomacy and cultural exchange fits perfectly into our company vision.

Meet Flight Attendant, Nancy Rivard and See How Inspiration Met Preparedness 35,000 Feet in the Air.

Airline Ambassadors International (AAI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization affiliated with the United Nations and recognized by the US Congress. It began as a network of airline employees using their pass privileges to help others and has expanded into a network of students, medical professionals, families and retirees who volunteer as "Ambassadors of Goodwill" in their home communities and abroad. It provides a way for members to share their unique skills and talents to care for others and bring compassion into action. Learn more and listen here

This month we are also announcing TravelTalkMEDIA's partnership with the International Centre for Peace Through Tourism Research (ICPTR) to organize the Tourism Progress and Peace Conference in March of 2011. Dr. Omar Moufakkir is providing leadership in the academic portion of the conference. The keynotes and scientific committees are being selected now, and we are also calling for abstracts.  The conference brings life to the book called, Tourism, Progress and Peace, which was published in May. We are inviting scholars, private businesses, and government officials for two days of workshops and presentations. The conference will provide a venue for strategies and processes that can be used in government and businesses to expand and promote tourism in conjunction with ‘active’ peace initiatives.

And finally, with great enthusiasm, we bring The Mini-Trade Show to the operators and agents, with our partners at eTurboNews. Using our media companies to promote tourism in the US and beyond, TravelTalkMEDIA and eTurboNews are hosting travel agents in secondary cities in the US and Germany to come and join us as we introduce destinations and travel products to regional agents. It is a wonderful opportunity to bring the same experience to operators and agents in smaller areas that don’t have the same big cities events. We begin in 4th quarter 2010.

Safe travels and thanks for your messages.
We are listening to you,

Sandy Dhuyvetter, Executive Producer and Host

Able Planet Teams up with Pro Surfer

Can You Hear Me Now? We laugh at this popular mantra from a cellular company, but this might be a question we start asking ourselves sooner, rather than later. The latest health information tells us there is worldwide hearing abuse. No one seems to care, at least not until Able Planet started taking an active roll in supporting hearing preservation and deaf school programs. Learn more and listen here
