We have much news to report this week as we have recently launched BusinessTravelRADIO and we are on our way to Reno to cover the National Tour Association's annual conference held in conjunction with the World Religious Travel Assn annual exhibit starting Nov 14 through the 18th.

This week on TravelTalkRADIO you will meet Frederick Mayet, the man selected to play the role of Jesus Christ in the once-every-decade presentation of the Passion Play. Beginning in 1634, this is the only Passion Play to have survived over the centuries. Many view this as the greatest outdoor theatrical performance in the world “Mary Magdalene” also joins us to provide some great background on this must-see, once-in-a-lifetime spectacle.

Oberammergau Passion Play

Frederick Mayet
and Eva Maria Reiser, “Jesus and Mary Magdalene” of the 2010 Oberammergau Passion Play

Call Collette Vacations to book your trip to Oberammergau, or call your travel agent.

The big news is our short trip to Southern California to meet and interview two very special people who will playing the part of Jesus and Mary Magdalene in the upcoming Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany. This week you will hear their story for the first hour of TravelTalkRADIO.

Frederick Mayet and Eva Maria Reiser represent the spirit of this small village of Oberammergau, Germany.

This passion play is the last remaining of its kind in Europe and it is the longest playing passion play since 1634. Every decade, the passion play is performed. In 2010, the play will be performed 102 times from May until Oct 2010.

On October 11, 2009, we were delighted to have Dave Costabile from Collette Vacations on TravelTalkRADIO to talk more about Oberammergau. If you would like to hear the interview Click HERE.

Special thanks to the following:
I would also like to the Honnie Korngold and Bev Henry from Spirit of Travel in Southern California and Mike Adams from the State Tourism Board of Baden-Wuerttemberg for making the interview with Frederick Mayet and Eva Maria Reiser possible.

When Bev Henry called and told me about the opportunity to interview Frederick and Eva Maria we were delighted to make it happen.  It came together smoothly and seamlessly. Thank you all!

John Bullard, Director of the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA)

Some 35 years ago, this native Californian arrived in New Orleans via New York City for a position he thought might a nice rung on his career ladder. But like so many others, he fell deeply in love with the city, its people and its amazingly diverse culture. You see, it’s John’s job to know a bit about culture: he’s the director of the fabulous New Orleans Museum of Art. Continued
