Welcome to this week's TravelTalkMEDIA Newsletter

This week we are attending the American Tourism Society' s (ATS) fall meeting in Cairo, Egypt. This is our seventh meeting with the organization in what ATS describes as a transformational destination. The first time we joined American Tourism Society and their members was in Budapest, Hungary, followed by Prague in the Czech Republic, Israel, Jordan, Croatia, Poland, and now Egypt. We sincerely hope you will consider Egypt as one of your next destinations. You will learn this week from His Excellency, Amr El Ezabi, that Egypt is not only affordable but the value of service you will experience will be second to none. We look forward to next week's program where we will be broadcasting from the Nile River on the newly renovated cruise ship Tamr Henna by Wings Group.

This Week's Guests, Sunday November 02, 2008  9 - 11AM PT

Our special guests this week are His Excellency Amr El Ezabi, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourist Authority, and Alex Harris, Founder and Honorary Chairman of the American Tourism Society and author of the recently released autobiography Breaking Borders. Enjoy the live show or come in after the broadcast to listen to the Archives.

Visiting the tombs in the Valley of the Kings, visitors
can see the well preserved artistry on the walls including vibrant colors and etchings that attract millions each year.

As I prepare this newsletter, I can't help but reflect upon some of the comments from the mass media on this region. Most of these reporters and writers have never been to Egypt and even some of our seasoned colleagues who are joining us for the ATS meeting, this is their first trip to Egypt.

My first question is why? This is the cradle of civilization. It is safe, affordable and it is full of rich experiences that cannot be duplicated anywhere in the world.

Has the mass media and their negative take on the Middle East influenced potential guests to the point of avoiding Egypt as a travel destination? Actually, I think not. Based on the numbers of visitors, the good news of Egypt is coming through! Egypt enjoyed almost 11 million visitors this past year and the future looks bright.

Come be a part of the future because it is clear that the Middle East, including Egypt, offers some of the best experiences of a lifetime.

I personally invite you to Egypt and please let us know your thoughts and your experiences while in this  incredible land of wonder.

Safe travels as always,
Sandy
