Thank you for joining us this week as we celebrate the long Memorial Day weekend in the United States by honoring the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our country. No matter where you live, it is a good time to be reminded of the brave souls who have selflessly served your country in order to protect the freedom of its citizens. We dream of the day when Memorial Day is not just a remembrance of the past but a celebration of a world without armed conflict. Peace is attainable and travel and tourism are of key importance in achieving the goal of living in harmony. Please keep traveling and be sure to download the Peaceful Credo of the Traveler. We have adopted this credo as our own from the International Institute for Peace through Tourism. If you print it out, share it, and live it,  you too will be part of a peace movement that cannot be stopped.

A slice of 'Yesteryear'.
Dave Taghon, Former Mayor of Empire, MI, USA
Empire, Michigan (population about 400) is situated on the shores of Lake Michigan in nearly square in the center of the awesome Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Sandy has a “Belgian connection” to this gorgeous slice of heaven. Come listen how Dave Taghon, the former Mayor and Sandy are connected too! Continued.

Dave Taghon in front of the gas station Joseph Dhuyvetter built for Dave's father in the 1940's.

Multi-generational Travel
Patrick Peartree, West Coast  Director TravelTalkMEDIA

Patrick shares some more great insight into the recent automobile trip across the Southwest US with his 88 year old dad. From oxygen bottles to the strategic selection of hotels and restaurants, traveling with Mom and Dad can take a little extra thought.

No Law on the High Seas
Ken Craver President of the International Cruise Victims Association

We take another look the problem of lawlessness on the high seas. Like Somali piracy, criminal activity against cruise passengers is almost always unreported, unpunished, and civilly unactionable.
Can it possibly be that out of 10 million cruise passengers in 2005 there were only four convictions for criminal activity committed onboard ships?! Continued.

 It's all about passenger safety

We continue to follow the story of international cruise line victims and their mission to protect cruise line passengers. It's all about passenger safety. This is not a witch hunt, but rather calling for visibility to a grave problem that must be corrected.

If you live in the United States and you want to be heard on this matter, we have provided links to letters that can be sent to your Senator and to your Congressman. Send the attached document to your Senator and Send this document to your Congressman.

The Definition of Hedonism
Greg Baxter, Breezes and Hedonism Resorts
According to Wikipedia, “
Hedonism is a school of philosophy which argues that pleasure has an ultimate importance and is the most important pursuit of humanity.” Greg Baxter, on the other hand, claims that Hedonism is the name of two SuperClubs resorts in Jamaica.

Travel Therapy: Where Do You Need To Go?
Author Karen Schaler

Where should I go and what should I do for my next vacation? Answering this question correctly is a critical start to a planning process that will likely turn your next holiday into either a wonderful and therapeutically memorable experience or an unfulfilling and pointless waste of time and money.

Fred Ferguson,
Inventor of the Magenn Air Rotor System (MARS) and Founder and CTO of Magenn Power, Inc
Is it possible for giant, airborne whirligigs to power remote island resorts and destinations? Perhaps even ultimately power the entire planet and save mankind from global warning, or worse?
