Let's take some time to celebrate our guests this week!

Northern California's Box of Chocolates
Laura Del Rosso
, Author of Great Escapes: Northern California

Particularly germane in an era of tight travel budgets, we’ll talk with the author of a great new guidebook that focuses on weekend getaways in Northern California. This helpful book provides great ideas for quick sojourns to the Gold Country in the Sierras, north to Mendocino County and as far south as Big Sur. Honey, pack up the car!

Our good friend and colleague, Dr. Moufakkir, is the chair of a unique hospitality university research department called the International Centre for Peace through Tourism and served as the editor for this new treatise. Rob Kelly
, Producer and Director of Documentary Films and Cinematographer for Popular TV Reality Shows

Independent filmmaker, Rob Kelly, has produced a groundbreaking documentary now airing worldwide called High Tech Monorails that explores an extremely viable alternative to solving 21st Century transportation problems with modern technology. He’s also just finished work on the newest season of the highly popular TV reality show Ice Road Truckers filmed entirely in Alaska and the Arctic Circle. Slick! Learn more and listen here

Globejotting, Kind of Says it All
Dave Fox, Author of Globejotting: How to Write Extraordinary Travel Journals (and still have time to enjoy your trip!)

A new book offers some great instruction for writing more meaningful travel journals and capturing memories in a much more holistic way than photography can. The author tackles difficult issues such as how to find the time to write travel journals, how to write creatively with descriptive details and, perhaps most importantly, how to stay motivated. Dave Fox tells us, “Whenever we step outside our cultural comfort zones and go into unfamiliar territory, we find other facets of our own personalities that I think we didn’t know existed before and we act differently when we are in these other cultures.” Perhaps like no other life experience, travel dramatically changes our personae. Learn how to discover your true inner self through your own travel journals. Learn more and listen here
