"We have been in pursuit of Sandy's show since the first week we took to the air last September. "Travel Talk Radio Show" is not only interesting and informative for the listener it is the MOST inclusive show of it's type I have ever heard. We are excited to know that besides reaching Mr. and Mrs. Traveler, we have a show which is listened to and respected by travel industry leaders. Sandy brings to the show the 'movers' and 'shakers' that make the travel world 'go round'. Talk about a value added audience? No wonder we are pleased to bring this show to our affiliates!"

Welcome to this week's TravelTalkMEDIA Newsletter.
We are in Los Angeles this week covering the National Business Travel Association International Convention & Exposition. It's as big of an event as its name. Interesting, as I was speaking to our director, John Johnson in NYC and to our PR director from the Bradford Group, Karen Hoffman, and they tell me both the same story this week. It's all the buzz around NYC, "everyone is coming" and we should expect record numbers in attendance. It doesn't surprise me, the NBTA has been one of the best run associations with forward thinking executives who are in the front lines before the legislators as well as the suppliers of products and services for the corporate travel buyer. This is a huge market with estimates that 60% of all passengers are on a  business mission.

I have often thought of my visit to Angola a few years ago. As a part of the Africa Travel Association delegation, we were totally immerged into the country for 10 days thanks to our hosts, the government of Angola. Our hotel overlooked one the most awesome beaches, with incredible potential for tourism development.

Sandy  will be staying at the luxurious boutique hotel, The Belamar, in Manhattan Beach. You can expect to hear more about this west coast experience in next week's newsletter.

You see, we were visiting only 3 short years after a very intense 30 year war that enveloped the entire country. Tourism was still a glimmer in the newly stable government's eyes as they hoped our delegation would recognize the opportunity and potential of this emerging country. It was obviously a bit early to bring anyone other than the adventure traveler to Angola, however, my question was, what kept the hotels full? I soon learned that, as in every developing country, the business traveler is the pioneer laying down the tracks that includes the creation and support of a destination that will fully support the leisure traveler one day. The business traveler is truly the road warrior and we can all learn from this dedicated and tenacious group.

I am especially excited to see the technology offered to the travel buyer in the thousands of businesses that will be attending the NBTA convention this week in LA. These buyers are coming to learn more about every aspect of buying travel including new ways to communicate with and track employees on the road, and new portals being offered that are specifically designed to manage travel purchases. And what we get to do as media is share with our audiences these new pieces innovations in hardware and software that will soon trickle down to the leisure traveler to be used in the home and family environment. Thank you to all the road warriors out there. You are paving the way for leisure travelers of the world to enter new regions with confidence knowing safety and comfort are well in place.

Safe travels and hope to see you in LA! Catch our show this week and next as we bring you two weeks of NBTA Radio.
