We continue our travels this week by heading to the Moroccan Travel Market (MTM)  in Marrakech where we will introduce you to regional experts in travel. We will also take some time to rediscover one of the oldest marketplaces in the world.

Like all of the Middle East and North Africa regions we have visited, we are anxious to return and learn more about the trends for travel in the upcoming year. There have never been more destinations and products available than there are today. We all know that this creates a wonderful competition and raises the bar to develop better offerings. That's good for us all.  We will visit Moroccan suppliers and many American companies who will be exhibiting at MTM.

This week, we are excited to announce I have been selected to serve on the board for the MENA Travel Awards. Dr. Sam Saker, the creator of the awards, and I met this past week in Los Angeles and agreed that the MENA Travel Awards are important to both the recipients who work so hard to provide high quality services, and to the leisure traveler who benefits from these offerings. I was convinced to become part of this organization when I became aware of the involvement of Price Waterhouse Cooper which audits, inspects and certifies all votes. Dr. Saker has been a guest on both TravelTalkRADIO and BusinessTravelRADIO. I hope you can take a moment and get to know more about Sam. You will be hearing more about this formal awards ceremony that rivals the opulence of the Oscars in Hollywood.

This year is already shaping up to be one of the most hopeful years we have seen in our industry for a long time. The entire spectrum of travel and lifestyle experiences awaits us. In 2010, we'll
celebrate the 10,000th birthday of the oldest, continually inhabited community in the world: Jericho in Palestine. We'll examine everything from ancient destinations to the newest in travel technologies.

In 2010, we will also take a look at the amazing growth of non-profit organizations that offer opportunities for voluntourism, and the "pay it forward" concept. The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good turn be repaid by having it done to others instead. There seems to be a rush to help and nurture developing communities.

As we continue to welcome the new year with open arms, we would like to thank our many colleagues and the organizations who share our belief that tourism creates economic prosperity which is the basis for peace and happiness. We are grateful for the support and, most importantly, will continue to offer educational and timely programming to our audiences around the world.

Enjoy our two hour TravelTalkRADIO programming, below is an overview and links into our programming.
