Thank you for joining us for another week of celebrating the experts in travel and lifestyle.
This week, we returned from New Orleans where we had the pedal to the metal. Four days of covering the enchanting French Quarter only made us more curious to experience and learn more. The hospitality community in New Orleans is amazing and we can guarantee you will have the same warm welcome we have had every time we return to the Crescent City.

The day after our return from New Orleans, we made the trip to Beverly Hills, California to meet with manager of the legendary Temptations, Mr. Shelly Berger. The group is hoping to do an Ambassador Tour this coming year. Interested in having this incredible Motown group in your country? Let us know!

The same day, we also had the opportunity to meet with the Minister of Tourism from Zambia, Her Excellency, Catherine Namagula. We spent a portion of a sunny California afternoon discussing the attributes of this beautiful African country. We will be bringing you more information on Zambia soon.

TravelTalkRADIO is available for listening during our live broadcast on Sunday's from noon to 2PM Eastern Time and the archives are always available directly after the programming.

We begin the programming with Larry DiFolco
, Executive Chef at Bistro 39 in Del Mar, California
Here’s a great story of another “rock star” chef. He’s a young Italian kid from NYC who grew up hanging out at his family’s restaurant business and eventually went off to refine his skills at culinary school. In fact, his entire career has been spent working in commercial kitchens and he holds an associates degree in Culinary Arts and bachelors in hospitality management. Continued

Thinking outside the box!

Is a Culinary Boot
Camp for you?

William (Bill) Garpow
, Executive Director of the Recreational Park Trailer Industry Association (RPTIA)
A little known niche in the travel and tourism market (at least to us) is the recreational park trailer industry. Sometimes referred to as “park models”, these are really cute 400 square foot manufactured
vacation cottages you’ll find at nearly 12,000 campgrounds and RV resorts across the country. Continued

Michael Estes, Mayor of Traverse, Michigan
From watersports to wintersports, Sandy takes us on a nostalgic trip back to the sweet times where she spent many summers as a young girl in spectacular Northern Michigan. Truly a four season destination, here on the shores of sparkling Lake Michigan Continued

Thomas Steinmetz, Publisher of eTurboNews
Joining us from his current travels in Germany, Thomas will give the latest breaking news and trends in the travel and tourism industry as he always does, gleaned straight from the headlines of his online publication, eTurboNews.
Continued

Eric Peterson,
Author of Ramble California

Travel guides becoming a bit too staid and boring for you? Meet “rambling man”, Eric Peterson, who will radically change all that! His latest book in the Ramble series artfully and entertainingly weaves great vignettes, photos and his own personal encounters off-the-beaten-track together with classic guidebook information. Continued

Sandy has accepted an invitation
to present to th
e Association of Moroccan Professionals
in America (AMPA)
in
Marrakech, this June 2009.

Kati Ihamδki,
Vice President of Sustainable Dev, Finnair

OK, just how green can an airline possibly become? Find out the course of sustainable development this 85 year-old airline set out on over two decades ago. Kati heads up all things environmental at Finnair Group and points out that effective sustainability strategies and staying highly competitive are not mutually exclusive ideals. Continued

John Rolfs, President and General Manager, Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Trivia question: In the opening scenes of the 1964 spy film classic Goldfinger, what is the name of the card game that James Bond and zillionaire bad guy Auric Goldfinger are playing poolside at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach? And speaking of a lot of money, did you know that this iconic and legendary landmark hotel just went through a ONE BILLION DOLLAR (please excuse the all caps) renovation? Continued

FOOD & JAMAICA
Darren McGrady
,
“The Royal Chef”.
We serve up some royal pudding in a delightful interview with the man who spent 11 years cooking for the Queen of England and the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace, and four years as private chef to Princess Diana and her family at Kensington Palace.  Chef McGrady is rightfully known as “The Royal Chef” and will be the featured “culinary rock star” at the upcoming Epicurean Escape at the Grand Lido in Negril, Jamaica June 24-28, 2009. Update from Cruise Victims Association

International Council of Cruise Lines (ICCL)
has accepted our invitation to be on TravelTalkRADIO this coming week.  Next Sunday, May 3, 2009  we will be welcoming back to the program, Michael Crye from the ICCL.

We have had much interest in our April 05, 2009 program about cruise victims uniting under the International Cruise Victims Association. The interview is compelling.
