25th French Quarter Festival Still Going Strong

Annual Event Saw Bustling Attendance

By Nick Gosling

NEW ORLEANS –
While the mighty waters of the Mississippi River were licking high along the shore last weekend, revelers, vendors and street performers didn’t seem to mind as they partied hearty at the annual French Quarter Festival.  Continued . . . . .

Meet our new addition to our TravelTalkMEDIA team, Nick Gosling. Nick has been working for East Coast newspapers and has decided to move to the California to hang his hat at TravelTalkMEDIA headquarters.
We couldn't be more thrilled. Welcome Nick!

This past Friday, Patrick and I attended one of the first time ever Queensland Australia tourism and media forums. What an insight for all of us. Queensland has some of the best travel offerings available including the Great Barrier Reef, and they are no longer keeping their heads in the sand about it! The Tourism Queensland folks brought out the big guns including tour operators and  wholesalers on a US road trip to talk about building relationships with the pres and the media as well as travel agencies. In the next few months, we will highlight some of the fantastic destinations in Queensland and bring the Australian experts to you from our studios at TravelTalkRADIO.

This week we are off to Kuala Lumpur to attend the 4th Annual Airline Distribution Conference co-sponsored by Universal Air Travel Plan (UATP) and Airline Business magazine. This is always a superb venue for the hundred plus airline companies who attend each year. It's an amazing experience to see these competitors join together to discuss the year's challenges and achievements. This year will prove to be one of the most dynamic airline distribution meetings ever fueled by, that's right, higher fuel prices and the news of numerous mergers in the works. Plus another new development, the "Open Skies" agreement between the UK and the US, has just been implemented this spring.  My personal favorites are the presentations made by the attendees and keynote speakers who provide a look into the future for every aspect of the airline business. For more information go to: www.uapt.com.  We will be sending our radio interviews with the airline execs and experts at the conference to eTurboNews this week for daily distribution. This is the launch of a new service by eTurboNews and TravelTalkMEDIA to expand our distribution bring our audiences the latest travel news. Just the Airline Industry, we realize that by sharing distribution channels, we can bring even more information to our readers and listeners.

So fasten your seat belts and hold on tight as we bring you another week of connecting you to the experts in travel and tourism. Hope you can join me this for this week's program.

Safe travels,

Sandy Dhuyvetter
